I.N. Network

For over 20 years, we have stayed true to our purpose: to connect Christian nationals worldwide.

In 1981, I.N. Network Ghana began a program of emancipation of women and girls enslaved by the cultural practice called Trokosi. The practice is linked to traditional African religious beliefs involving the surrender of virgin girls as "reparations" for the "crimes" or wrongdoing of members of their families where the crimes are believed to be the precursors to a series of deaths of family members. Since 1987 I.N. Network Ghana, in collaboration with groups such as the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, National Council on Women and Development, et al, has facilitated the "voluntary" release of 3,700 women and 16,000 children from the Trokosi practice, with most giving their lives to Christ. However in spite of this achievement 1,000 Trokosi women and 8,000 children living in the S. Volta region have been identified by I.N. Ghana as still in bondage.
